Okinawa Fun Diving

Okinawa fun diving points are divided into Kerama Islands and Okinawa Main Island diving, all of which are boat diving.

Kerama Islands Diving: Depart from Naha City by diving boat. After moving 1 hour each way, dive at 3 different points and return.

Okinawa Main Island Diving: Car transfer to the port near the point (30 minutes to 2 hours one way depending on the point). Return to port after each dive. It takes 5-10 minutes by boat from the port to the point.

The default is 2 boat dives, and the 3rd dive is optional.

Kerama Islands: National Marine Park

Okinawa Fun Diving – Kerama Islands National Marine Park

The national marine park, Kerama Islands, is well-known for its world’s top class visibility and beautiful coral habitat. You can meet cute sea turtles with a high chance! Also, depending on sea condition and diver’s level, you can try Manta ray point!

Kerama Islands is located about 40 kilometers to the west of Okinawa Main Island, about an hour boat ride from Naha Miegusuku Port. Kerama consists of 36 islands with so many diving points, which makes you enjoy diving all year round!

Spend all day on a boat after 3 dives and come back to the NAHA area.

Manza : Wall and cavern

Okinawa Fun Diving – Manza Area 

The dive site of Manza is near to Cape Manza which is famous for its cliff shaped like an elephant’s trunk. As its unique terrain on land, the underwater geographical features are also very interesting such as vertical caves or holes to pass through. In particular, the blue light from the cave exit will fascinate you.

Since it is on the western coast of Okinawa Main Island, about an hour drive from Naha Kokusai Street. As it is located on the west coast, April to November is the peak season for diving in the Manza area.

Okinawa Fun diving – Itoman Area 

Challenge yourself to adventurous points where you can enjoy the magnificent underwater landscape, interesting tracks, and the light shower of cavern that attracts divers!

Itoman is located on the southern part of Okinawa Main Island, a 30~40-minute drive from Naha Kokusai Street. As it is located in the south coast, it is strong in the north wind, which makes Okinawa winter diving even more fun!

Ginowan : Coral paradise

OKINAWA FUN DIVING – GINOWAN

This dive site can be reached in 15 minutes by car from the airport. This site was once undervalued due to its close distance, but thanks to that, you can meet healthy corals that have grown densely. This site has terrain that you can swim along narrow waterways, and it is also a hidden area where you can meet shipwrecks that have sunk in relatively shallow waters. Since this site is close to the airport, you can dive as check dive right after you arrive at the airport on the first day of your trip.

Cape hedo : The mystery of nature

HEDO – OKINAWA NORTHERNMOST DIVE SITE

At Hedo, you can face the mystery of nature with 20,000 years of history. Once, there was a stalactite cave on land and now it is sunk underwater by the crustal movements. Pass through the cave, exit at the air pocket and gaze in awe of this wonder of nature!

All other diving points are also very dynamic as Air Dome point. At this dive site, the current is usually strong and all diving is drift diving. In order to dive here, the diver must be certified as Advanced level or above with over 50 logs and go check diving with us in advance.

Cape Hedo is located in the northernmost part of Okinawa Main Island, about 2.5 hours drive from Naha Kokusai Street. As it is located on the northern most, April to November is the peak season for diving in hedo area

Motobu : Minna & Sesoko island

MOTOBU – OKINAWA NORTHERN PART

Two remote islands with completely different features! On Minna Island, you can enjoy a relaxed sandy area diving with a lot of fish in deep water and beautiful corals in shallow depth. On Sesoko Island, you can pass through interesting tunnels and caves.

Minna & Sesoko are located in the Motobu area which is the northern part of Okinawa Main Island, about 1.5 hours drive from Naha Kokusai Street. As it is located on the west coast, April to November is the peak season for diving in the Motobu area.

The wreck USS Emmons : History of the Second World War

USS EMMONS – OKINAWA NORTHERN PART

The USS Emmons, a US Navy destroyer during World War II that was sunk by its sister ship after suffering 5 hits from Japanese Kamikaze aircraft… With its important historical background story, USS Emmons is one of the must-go sites for experienced divers.

At this dive site, the maximum depth is 45 meters or more and the current is usually very strong. In order to dive here, the diver must be certified as Advanced level or above with over 50 logs and go check diving with us in advance.

USS Emmons is located in the Motobu area which is the northern part of Okinawa Main Island, about 2hours drive from Naha Kokusai Street. As it is located on the west coast, April to November is the peak season for diving in the Motobu area.

Come back to the local port after every dive usually. Since it is very huge, you can appreciate half of the destroyer at each dive and look through the whole destroyer in two dives.
